My miss sensitive to precise A/F. It accrues mostly during driving around, 25-50MPH (2000-3000RPM). Sometimes it will miss at idle. I'm using stock FI (295cc) and the stock AFM. Sometime will go away on its own...Things that effect the problem:
- It has done this ever seance, I've owned it. And before any mods, were ever done...
Things that don't work:
- Move the adjustment on the TPS, and you can move the miss around, from 2000 to 3000 rpm.
- Mess with the AFM idle adjust or the internal cogs, even slightly, miss will worse or better (sometimes just one turn).
- Timing (6-8deg adv), Need premum gas, for no pinging...
- Adding:
- The Jacob's,
- Mangnecor wires,
- Can make it get slightly worse,
- But with some tweaking on the AFM, will get better;
- Sometimes changing; new cap, plugs, anything, will make it get better. Then will come back...
- Sometimes fuel injection cleaner will reduce the problem, comes back after, next fuel up...
- LCE mod, using a variable resistor in series wit the the temperature sender (THW),
- Adding partial or full block, to the EGR,
- Jacob's clams that it will eliminate all misses - not! It works good otherwise...
- I've replaced everything once or twice. The AFM and coil and ignighter, was swapped temporary, with no effect.
- Went to a shop who has a, computerized wiring harness checker, and passed...
- Engine rebuilt, head twice, all the EFI components, including the ECU...
- Going to Toyota...
